Whats The Difference In Money Between An Rn Nurse And A Bsn Nurse? Thanks?

Filed in Category RN to BSN

Many times they make the same amounts initially, when they first start out working after they receive their nurse’s license. However, BSN’s can grow into management and director positions, where as RN’s wouldn’t get there as quickly, if at all.
RN’s make about $25-40/hour. BSN’s sometimes make the same amt as an RN would. A nursing license is a nursing license. The amount that you get paid depends on the state you live in, how much experience you have (other than clinicals and nursing school experiences) and what setting you work in (doctors office, clinic, hospital, what section of the hospital, etc.)
I have a cousin and uncle who both only have their associate’s degrees and are RN’s. They each make around $40. So I think it all depends. BSN does not guarentee more money, and if you do make more money, its not a substantial amount. It’s normally a few dollars difference.
Good luck :)

My understanding is that BSN is Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, but you haven’t passed any tests. RN is Registered Nurse. My friend got her BSN, but took her 2 years to pass her RN test to actually gain the right to be called an RN.
My sister-in-law now wants to go to nursing school and get her associate’s degree in nursing, and she tells me she can be an RN afterwards (I guess after taking her test). So she will not have her BSN, but can still be an RN.
    Hopefully that make’s sense.
Some are degrees, some are certifications.
