I am looking into nursing colleges but I have a degree in Medical Assisting already. Can I go into an RN program for nurses or do I have to start at the begining of a CNA?
you can go into RN you have a degree in ma thats the same as cna
CNA- certified nursing assistant – just above minimum wage
LPN – licensed nurse practitioner – 2 year degree (not as hard as RN and fair pay)
RN – registered nurse – 4 year degree (in some states there are still 2 year RN degrees) good pay $40k and up
CRNA – certified registered nurse anesthetist – six years of school and nursing experience – Starting over $100k/year
You can do either- the order of superiority is CNA (lowest) LPN, then RN (highest). There isn’t much difference between an LPN or and RN- LPN’s can’t do med flushes and RN’s do more paperwork. Most hospitals only want RN’s. I’d go for the RN- you have more choices!
