does anyone know a school like uconn?

so im a senior in hs right now and im planning on majoring in nursing in college. i absolutley love uconn but im not sure if i’d get in to the nursing program and its a little pricey for me. can you recommend any schools like this but maybe even a little bit smaller? i have taken 6 ap courses, 3 college and the rest honors so i do fairly well in school im just not sure if my SAT which right now is a 1700 and if i dont get into the nursing program freshman year i think im going to rule it out so i wanted some backups that were similar to that school, anywhere in ct, mass, ny, vermont, nh, maryland. thanks

How long does the nursing program at University of Illinois take?

I have been admitted to UIUC as DGS (undeclared). I now know that I want to get a bachelor’s of science in nursing. How many years does this program take to complete?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my parents are willing to pay four years, but definitely not five.
Thank you!

Becoming an RN/LPN in Alabama?

I really don’t know anything about the requirements for becoming LPN/RN certified in Alabama, and I cant seem to find anything that tells me what minimum requirements are. I’ve looked through the AL state nursing board, but i didnt find it. Maybe i just dont know what im looking for. I’ve been through a couple college’s sites for nursing programs, but they’ve been less than helpful as well

Also, if anyone know if there is a limit to how much time you can spend in school to get your certs (I imagine they want you to be fresh in all the subjects i.e. chemistry, because if i spread out the course load over 10 years (by example) i would have completely forgotten my chem classes)
More specifically what are course/time requirements for each cert? I can’t afford to quit my job to school full time. how long does each cert take?

Cross-nursing. What’s your opinion.?

I was just reading an article about cross nursing, or, nursing another baby that isn’t yours.

For me personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that. health concerns aside, to me, breastfeeding is an intimate experience, and I don’t know how comfortable I would feel sharing that experience with a baby that isn’t my own, or allowing another woman to have that experience with my child.
However, if the need were emergent, I would willingly nurse another child, if need be.

What are your opinions on cross-nursing?

In the state of Indiana and under Indiana law, what are the job differences between LPN versus RN?

I was wondering other than pay differences, what can one expect a typical on the job day to be like if one was an LPN verses RN? I know Nursing laws defer by state, but if one was to become an LPN in a hospital or nursing home or even a doctors office what would one be allowed and expected to do? And are there any other jobs available for LPNs and what are they (In the state of Indiana)?

HELP please with nursing PICO question (Maternal, OB, Newborn, etc)!?

I need a PICO question over either pregnancy, pregnancy complications, postpartum, newborn, premature newborn, anything along those lines. I know how to make a PICO question so I am not asking that. I am just having trouble with this area and exploring things I could do one over and find articles with. Thanks!
