Nursing Schools?

OK, I have a question about becoming a nurse. I am a junior in high school and next year will be my last year. I want to become a RN when I graduate but i have a question. Can I go directly to a nursing school when I graduate or would I have to go somewhere like ODU (4 EX)? Also, can someone let me know of any good nursing schools in VA? Thanx

You can go directly to nursing school, however, you may want to look at colleges that have a strong discipline in nursing. A college degree in nursing is better than just a plain RN. It’s also easier to get right out of high school than trying to pick it up later after life changes occur.

Okay Miss Thugg I will tell you the skinny. If you want to apply for a 4 year degree like at ODU or VCU you have to get your prerequisites done and then apply, that can take 1.5 to 2 years. Or you can go to a junior or community college for a 2 year Associates degree which allows you to sit for your state’s board just like the 4 year degree. The only drawback of the 2 year degree is that you have to go back to school if you want to progress to grad school. Good luck ,your needed.
