Nurse Advice…?

I am a senior in high school and I have been looking at becoming a registered nurse, I have read some peoples opinions on going to community collage or going straight to a university and I am leaning towards going to Jr Collage. I have heard that if you go to community collage first and get your associates degree you will be able to get into the work force alot quicker, is this true?
Also if I was to go back to school to get my bachelors and then masters so I could become a nurse practitioner how does work get in the way?

we need more nurses… you can definitely get your associate’s degree from a community college and finish school sooner than getting a rn, the good thing is you can get employed and then if you really like nursing proceed to get your bsn degree. goodluck! good choice.

Well Nursing is a really good profession with a lot of demand. Is a really good field after you become a Rn you can start making in some states around 60k to 65k without experience once you get more your salary will increase and if you go back to school for master and bachelors or to be nursing as a particular dept. your salary will increase too. There is a lot of fields in Nursing and they all paid good money. You can work during day and study at night or work at night and study during days or weekends. But i will suggest to go straight from High school to finish RN because is not that easy take a lot of study and time to just be accepted in the classes check those links at the bottom you may get more info.

Getting an associates degree through a Jr college will take you probably 2 years. Getting a bachelors through university will take you 4, so yes, jr college will get you into the work force sooner. Many transition programs designed to take you from an ADN (associates degree in nursing) to a BSN (bachelors of science in nursing) can be done mostly online, allowing you to do them while you work. Masters programs may require more working around the schedule, but you’re a long way from there, so take it a step at a time. Good luck!!
