why would being a 1st yr rn slow u down? if u want it --do it. people told u getting your rn would be hard too, didn't they? I've decided to get mine after 12 yrs and I'm a little scared cuz it's been too long maybe. I work full time+OT, I'm starting with 2 prerq's community college math/ IT in aug, then add Ohio University's online program 1 class in oct--kinda sneeking up on it to see how I do

I started in an online RN to BSN program the very next semester after graduation from the ADN program. I started out working 80% of full time, and gradually dropped down to about 60%. I also have a family and so it was rather stressful for me. But it's possible. Everyone can handle different amounts of stress. But I would recommend trying not to work full time if you can help it. RNs make decent money and often get full benefits for as little as half-time status, so I'd say try to only work as much as you really have to while in school and go full time later after you're done. Good luck.
