I Am Going For My Nursing Degree, Question On Adn-msn?

Filed in Category BSN to MSN

Hi! I have a question regarding whether I have to go to school and get a BSN to get my MSN to become a nurse practitioner? There are excellerated programs to get me the masters degree in 3 years. Also what else can one do with a masters degree in nursing? Can any NP’s tell me what they do exactly and if they like their job or not? What specialties are there? Thanks in advance!

There are few MSN programs that offer acceptance to people without a BSN and at least a year of experience as an RN. I am currently attending one of those programs. Its at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Here is the link. You can at least find out a lot about being an NP and the different degrees available from their website. http://www.nursing.vanderbilt.edu/ It’s awesome because you get your NP in two years without having a BSN first. Hope that this helps.
