I am a dental hygienist and I had to have a filling done when I was pregnant and then again when I was nursing my second child. I felt perfectly safe having the shots done knowing what I do about the anesthesia used. To give you peace of mind though, feel free to bring this up with your dentist before your appointment and see what they say. You could even call your childs pediatrician and ask their opinion. If still in doubt, do as other posters have mentioned and pump some milk beforehand. At the age of one year, you are surely feeding your child other food now rather than only your milk, right? You can continue with table food and supplement with water if you want to avoid breastmilk altogether for that day. Just a thought. Good luck.
