Does the nursing school you go to for the BSN or MSN degree really matter?

For instance, if you got your degree from University of Washington or Yale, how is that better than getting the same degree from a not-very-known institution?

No, it doesn’t matter where you go for your BSN, nurses are in demand everywhere. Basically as long as you pass your NCLEX, and are not a criminal then you have a shot at a job. I graduated from a public university with a BSN with $16,000 in debt. My friend graduated from a private u. with $90,000 in debt. We made the same amount as nurses. And as nervous as I was, no one looked to see my grades, that I got a C in both Anatomy and Microbiology (whoops!)
In some areas, ADNs will make the same salary as a BSN, and they only went to community college!
For an MSN, I might put a slightly higher amount of thought where I go, based on what I want to do and how competitive the position is. More likely length and type of work experience will still beat out the place you got your MSN degree though.
