I’m not a medic, but I’d suggest making sure it’s clean and then using a band aid or similar to close it. You can buy ‘butterfly’ plasters at the pharmacy which are designed to do this. Then keep it dry and clean, change the dressing each day, and check for any signs of infection such as swelling, redness, pus etc – if you suspect that it’s infected, go to the doc’s. Ah, and of course, if you cut it outside in the garden for example, check that your anti tetanus shots are up to date, and if not – off to the doc’s with you for an anti tetanus shot.

if it isn’t deep, and it isn’t bleeding, I’d just pull the edges together with bandaids and keep it clean and covered. My only question would be, when was your last tentanus shot? Lockjaw, caused by tetanus bacteria can be fatal. you should have a tetanus shot every ten years minimum.

If it;s not bleeding, then no need for hospital really is there?? Just make sure its clean before you put anything on it!! And change any dressings a lot to avoid any infections!
If you notice any puss in it, or it gets redder, swells up or becomes very tender, then go seek medical advice asap!

If its not deep, and isnt bleeding anymore, to encourage healing bring the wound together with steristrips, and then bandage for a day. But i reccommend going to A&E to get it checked out, or book an appointment with your practice nurse.

You probably don’t need to go to the hospital. Have someone go get you some butterfly bandages. Put Neosporin on your cut, close it up with the butterfly bandages, then cover it with a larger bandage. It should be okay.

If its not bleeding and if it was me i would pour alcohol on it to clean the wound and if its not too deep get some sutchers and stick it closed or plasters will do. Just make sure it is clean and the alcohol wil get rid of any germs

  7. Rhianna says:

Without seeing the wound it’s hard to say. if the wound isn’t deep and it has stopped bleeding, keep it clean and cover it with a plaster/dressing.

i would just do a butterfly bandaid to make sure the scar is skinnier when it heals like if you had stiches. unless it seems infected. prolly safer to just go and get the stiches and a shot.

I have cut myself like that before if it was still bleeding then I’d say yes go to the hospital but seeing as it’s stopped just put a dressing on it

probably instead of goin to the hospital go to the doctor and check it! Or it could get invected

But Some Cream On To Make Sure It Don;t Get Infected and Put A Bandage On It To Be On The Safe Side.

Go to a pharmacist and ask their advice.

clean it and cover it with a plaster ,if its not bleeding no need for hospital
