College Application: Is A Nursing (rn/ Bsn) Major The Same For Those Who Want To Be Doctors?

I’m filling out a college application for FIU. ON THE LIST OF MAJORS I DONT SEE MEDICINE SPECIFICALLY. I WANT TO STUDY TO BE A DOCTOR, NOT A NURSE.
IF I CHOOSE Nursing (RN/ BSN) IT WOULD BE THE EXACT SAME THING AS STUDYING TO BECOME A DOCTOR RIGHT?
IF NOT, SHOULD I CHOOSE BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, BIOLOGICAL EDUCATION, OR HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION. WHAT IS THAT LAST ONE ANYWAY?

Medicine is not a major. If you don’t want to be a nurse, don’t major in nursing – it’s not going to help you become a doctor. Major in anything you want and take the premed classes in bio, chem, physics, math, and English. Biology is a good major, and a popular one among premed students, but really, any major is fine as long as you take premed classes. Nursing is specific job training for a job you’re not going to do – don’t put it down as your major. And since nursing programs have tight caps, it might actually contribute to your not getting accepted in the first place.
