Okay so my friends girlfriend is pregnante and she is taking xanax and vicodin. I want to know if it is harmful to her unborn child and if its harmful to her child once it is born. Also my friend doesnt know that she is taking these pills, so should i tell him?

I advised several nurses that even faily member if they are mean enough can sue them if the results turn out bad,I said certainly strangers will sue because they are asking that advice beased upon the nurses experience and knowledge
Several new off duty nurses heeded my advice to be careful when they offer services off the job or advice. Two of them said that was rediculous What do i know im not a nurse. I said i have a well rounded education. Nurses and other health care professional;s What do you think Can they be sued for advice and services off the job
Naturally i said nothing when advised i was wrong

I can only see a doctor next week, and I’m a little worried. I’ve been extremely dizzy and confused for about 1 or 2 weeks now. I’m always sleepy and it’s hard for me to focus. I’ve been having headaches very often, especially where my forehead is. My troat is a little sore at times, but not often. I’ve always been having trouble digesting food lately.
Advice would be highly appreciated!!

Our insurance offers a “GET ADVICE FROM A REAL NURSE” thing which we call this number and receive advice from a real nurse on duty—-What a crock!!!
I called today because I have such a sore throat that I’ve had for over a week now and I wanted to see if I should go in to the Dr. I thought that perhaps she would have had information on a certain virus making it’s rounds or something that would alleve my fears of Step Throat or something and instead I was treated to the rudest “talking down to”. I was amazed—she kept interupting me and asking me stupid questions like “Have you been having trouble sleeping (which isn’t a stupid question but…) I answered yes the sore throat has been waking me up for a week—then she asked about a cough—I said yes for the last three days and then she asked “has the cough been waking you up?” when I tried to explain that both the pain from my throat and the cough—she cut me off and very nastily said “dont interupt”—sound familiar?

I am a senior in high school and I have been looking at becoming a registered nurse, I have read some peoples opinions on going to community collage or going straight to a university and I am leaning towards going to Jr Collage. I have heard that if you go to community collage first and get your associates degree you will be able to get into the work force alot quicker, is this true?
Also if I was to go back to school to get my bachelors and then masters so I could become a nurse practitioner how does work get in the way?

I have what looks like a large lump I guess, my shoulders pull foreward, and if i rub my neck, my lower neck, its always tense, and feels like there is a knot or lump (not like a cancer lump, but like the top of my spine pushes out). Is this bad posture? I looked scoliosis, and thats a curve that goes from side to side.
If i pull my shoulders as far back as they go, and practically stick my chest out, it seems gone. I’m concerned, is this something I need to see a doctor about? or is this bad posture?
Is there some sort of brace that helps pull the shoulders back and improve posture?

Information/ Incouragement For Nursing Clinicals?

I am in my 2nd semester of nursing school, we start clinicals this week and will be starting IV’s, giving meds, injections, ect. I am nervous even though I have worked in the hospital as a care assistant, this is all new. I know I will be fine once I can find a routine with meds and assessment but do you nurses have any advice?The main thing that makes me nervous is giving meds. Do you develop a routine or is it confusing like clinicals?
