Can You Get Work As A Psychiatric Nurse With Just A Bsn? ?

From what I’ve read online, it seems like an MSN is required to become a psychiatric/mental health nurse. But I’m not interested in being a nurse practitioner. I just want to be an RN working with psychiatric patients. How hard would it be to get hired to work in a psych ward with a BSN?

Yes, with your BSN you can EASILY get hired to work in a psych ward. (same as if you have your ADN). Just as if you were going into any other field in nursing – a MSN isn’t needed for an entry position in this area.

yes i am an LPN/LVN , and i worked as a psych nurse
not sure where you received that info
but not true, unless it was for a certain postition that requires that(maybe that was just that one postion)
but in reality a RN with a 2 year Asssociates degree can also
    work on a psych unit
    as well as a CNA
    good luck
