Any advice for nursing a kitty with a cold?

We got a new kitten two days ago and she has a kitty cold. We can’t get into the vet until Tuesday. Any ideas for making her more comfortable?

I hope it really is a cold and not something more serious. Make sure you tell your vet of all the symptoms.

Warm water and a little drop of Children’s Tylenol.

keep her warm… try to make sure she has plenty of fluids.. mainly water… cats drink water and occasionally milk…let her sleep as much as she needs…dont force her to eat …she might not feel up to it ….but try her ocassionally on something very light, ….hope she goes well……

keep the nose clean,,wipe the eyes with warm water and keep it out of drafts.

    Aww, poor baby!

Make sure she has a soft, comfortable place to sleep shelterred both from the wind and from excess sun. And don’t let her run and romp too much. She probably won’t feel like eating much, but make sure she has food and a lot of fresh water.

    Good luck!

  7. old cat lady says:

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT give your kitten any tylenol. It is fatal to cats and destroys their livers within 24 hours!!!!!!!!!

She probably just has a touch of kitty flu and will be fine. You don’t have to do anything special for her except watch her carefully and if her symptoms seem to get worse get her into the vet Monday or Tuesday.
