Vicodin is okay. It is often prescribed, because ibuprofen should not be taken. The Xanax is another issue. The baby can be born addicted to both these drugs if she continues to regularly take these medications. The Vicodin addiction is one the nursery nurses can cope with, but the Xanax addiction can cause more problems. Her OB doctor and the nurses that will care for her infant need to be aware she is using these drugs, how long during the pregnacy she has used them, and how much, just for the infants safety. Please talk to her significant other and find out if he can get her assistance to get off these medications while she is pregnant.

Tell him. Contact CPS and distance yourself from this person.

Vicodin is a form of acetaminophen and hydrocodone. These are pain killers for moderate to severe pains, and fever. Vicodin (Level B-C) can be harmful to an unborn child and may cause withdrawal after birth. Harm to the fetus must be considered b4 giving these meds. It can also be passed on during breast feeding.
Xanax ( which is an anti anxiety/depression/panic drug) must not be giving to a pregnant women. It’s is a class D drug that has been proved to cause defects in fetuses. It must only be given in life-threatening situations but keeping in mind the risks to the unborn child.
I would recommend that your friend question these prescriptions to her subscriber, especially when it comes to Xanax. And about telling your friend: it’s his girlfriend’s position to tell him, especially when their baby might be at risk, but in case she decides not to and keeps on taking these meds, i would suggest you letting him know.
    Good luck.

ALL medication and herbs have a potential to be harmful to a fetus!!! The effects of drug use may not be apparent at birth( birth defects) but the child could have developmental delays. You should tell your friend that she is using.
